Stone
- Stone, while still making up the majority of the Minecraft world, comes in a wide geologic variety. There are twenty-three different types of stone, and the ore veins you find will depend on the type of stone you mine in. Each stone comes in 4 different varieties: Raw, Cobblestone, Stonebrick, and Smoothed.
Mining/Crafting Stone
- Getting the different forms of stone requires more work than in vanilla Minecraft.
- Cobblestone is still given whenever you directly mine stone with a pickaxe, however one can no longer get raw stone from smelting cobblestone. Instead, you must dig out all the blocks around a block of stone until it is free-floating, and it will pop out as a piece of raw stone.
- To create Stonebricks or Smoothed stone, you must craft a chisel with either cobblestone or raw stone, respectively (this will damage the chisel).
Types of Stone
The twenty-three different stones are divided into four groups: Igneous Intrusive, Igneous Extrusive, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic.
Igneous Intrusive Rocks
- Diorite
- Gabbro
- Granite
Igneous Extrusive Rocks
*Andesite
Sedimentary Rocks
- Chalk
- Chert
- Claystone
- Conglomerate
- Dolomite
- Limestone
- Mudstone
- Rock salt
- Shale
- Siltstone
Metamorphic Rocks
- Gneiss
- Marble
- Phyllite
- Quartzite
- Schist
- Slate
